Out of the darkness

Being born under the sign of Leo, I'm always on the lookout for interesting lion photos. This picture is very intriguing. I love the play of light and darkness in the photo and in the title. I wonder what it is that they are so intently watching?

The Title "Out of the darkness," also applies to myself being able to relax and enjoy exploring Flickr's wonderful site, and most important - accomplishing Thing #5.

Obstacles and frustrations!

I am certainly willing to take responsibility - for overcoming my own lack
of technological know-how. However, having said that, I feel as though
I'm being overwhelmed by several obstacles. At home, I spend hours
trying unsuccessfully to upload pictures to Flickr, but I just can't do
what I don't know how to do!! At home, I have time and access to the
internet, but no help - at work I don't have the time nor easy access to
the internet, and during this transition period in Circ Center, I just can't
justify bugging my coworkers.

Just in the nick of time, I remembered what I learned at Lakewood (now
Century Community College), regarding exam questions - if you're stuck
on a question - go on to the next question and then come back.

TECHNOLOGY Thing #7

I have a passion for words. I love just throwing them out on a page, and
watch as they come together to form a story. Once in awhile one word
will jump out and hook me. Take "malcontent," for example. I thought
surely this is a negative word, however, upon looking it up in Thinkmap's
Visual Thesaurus, http://www.visualthesaurus.com/, I realized that it's
often - just a person who is expressing discontent or disgust with something.
Furthermore, I myself, have been a malcontent on and off over the past few
years. I think it all began with Peggy Lee's version of "Is That All There Is
My Friend?" But, I digress, back to the thesaurus, which can be purchased
both in a CD version, or an online version, which libraries and schools prefer.

One more thing before I go, the online version will allow the user to select the
word that they're looking up and see it in five different languages. An added
bonus is the speaker pronunciation of the word in whichever language the
user has selected. What a help for someone learning a new language.
